Money transfers

Question: What should the payee know about the sender and vice-versa when conducting a money transfer?
Answer: To transfer money, the sender indicates the payee's full name. To receive the transfer, the payee must go to the nearest branch of the Bank and identify the ten-digit code assigned to his particular money transfer. Money is received on presentation of the payee's passport.

Question: What currency do I receive, if the transfer is from France?
Answer: In Ukraine you can only receive money transfers in UAH or USD. The sender can choose one of the currencies permitted.

Question: What documents are needed to receive a money transfer?
Answer: A passport is the mandatory identification document.

Question: Do I have to have a bank account in order to transfer money via Western Union?
Answer: No. This system of transfers is not tied to a postal or bank address.

Question: Is it necessary to know the control number to receive a money transfer?
Answer: According to Western Union regulations, it is not mandatory, but preferable.

Question: Which is the better money transfer system — Western Union or through the bank?
Answer: The choice depends on the client's priorities. Western Union money transfer is very quick and comparatively expensive, while transfers via the SWIFT system are less expensive but take more time.

Question: If I received money transfer under the system Western Union and the sum of transfer differs from the sum sent, commission for transfer was being paid by sender, what is the matter?
Answer: If the transfer was received not in the day of sending, then difference of the sum can be explained by change in the rate of conversion of currency sent in currency received. At that the rate of Western Union is used.
