The NBU registered Joint-Stock Raiffeisen Bank Aval, in the form of a public joint-stock company. Authorised Capital — 100,000,000 roubles, registration number — 94. Aval opened 3 branches of the Bank.
4 April
Raiffeisen Bank Aval conducted its first transaction.

The Bank opened its first regional sub-division — Mykolayiv Directorate.
1993
12 regional sub-divisions of the Bank commenced operation.
The Bank joined the Association of Ukrainian Banks.
The Bank conducted its third issue of shares, resulting in an increase in Authorised Capital to 500,000,000 roubles.
The Bank obtained NBU Licence ¹48 dated 10.12.1993 for FOREX transactions.
1994
On 18 April, on the basis of Cabinet Decree ¹ 1,015, dated 10.12.1993 "On measures for the acceleration of settlement transactions related to the payment of pensions, financial aid and postal orders", the NBU registered Aval as a Joint-Stock Post Pension Bank, servicing the Pension Fund and Ukrainian Post Office.
The Bank conducted its third issue of shares, resulting in an increase in Authorised Capital to a total of 5,200,000,000 roubles.
The bank obtained a Licence from the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, allowing it to act as a depository for investment funds and investment companies.
For the first time in its history, the Bank underwent an international audit. Arthur Andersen, determined that the Bank's financial standing was sound.
The number of Directorates and Branches reached 40.
1995
The Bank conducted its fourth issue of shares, the aim of which was to increase Authorised Capital to 184,516,430,000 roubles.
The Bank was admitted to S.W.I.F.T. an international system for inter-bank clearing.
Aval became a participant in the EBRD SME credit line programme.
64 regional Directorates and Branches, as well as 82 remote-site sub-branches were successfully established.
1996
The Bank conducted its fifth issue of shares, resulting in an increase in Authorised Capital to a total of 1,072,318,810,000 roubles.
The Bank obtained a Licence from the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, allowing it to conduct securities issue and circulation activities.
Aval won the tender for providing services to the State Customs and Excise Committee.
The Bank commenced dealing transactions on the currency and finance markets of the CIS.
The Bank conducted its sixth issue of shares, resulting in an increase in Authorised Capital to a total UAH 19,398,000.
On 30.12.1996, Aval renewed NBU Licence ¹ 10, for the right to conduct banking transactions. The list of available transactions was expanded to 31, including the servicing of the State Budget.
The Bank established 28 Directorates and Branches, as well as 250 Sub-branches.
The Bank became a member of the Visa and Europay international payment systems.
Aval's own processing centre UPC commenced operation.
The Bank issued its first payment card.
1997
Western Union recognised Aval Bank as its best partner in Eastern Europe. This was the case in future years.
1998
The number of the Banks regional sub-divisions increased to 411.
Chairman of the Board, F.I. Shpyh, was elected a Member of Parliament.
1999
NBU and World Bank inspections concluded that Raiffeisen Bank Aval had a rating of "2" under the CAMEL system (the highest being a "1").
Aval issued the first joint payment card in Ukraine — the UMC-Visa-Aval card.
According to results of a Business rating, Raiffeisen Bank Aval won second place in the category: "The Bank in which you would place your deposit".
2000
Western Union recognised Aval as the most creative-orientated agent in the system.
According to results of a Business rating, Raiffeisen Bank Aval won first place in the category: "The Bank in which you would place your deposit".
Chairman of the Board, O.V. Derkach, won the "Banker of Year" nomination.
The Aval trademark was the winner of the all-Ukrainian "Brand of the Year" competition in the category "The People's Recognition".
Aval Bank became the general sponsor of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre.
